James started his apprenticeship in 1996 and received his journeyperson certification as Top Apprentice in the trade for the year 2000. Starting with the service & small contracts side of the business, he would later move on to the construction side of the business, taking care of larger builds such as the Canad Inns Brandon.
It was while working on the Canad Inns hotel in 2004 that he met his future wife Stacey and convinced her to move to Winnipeg as he started a new chapter in his career by moving into the office. Close ties to Brandon brought James and Stacey back to Brandon in 2006.
Over the last 15 years in the office James has advanced his knowledge of the industry and kept up to date on the latest technology through in-person and virtual training on everything from fire codes, foam systems, hydraulic design, and clean agent extinguishing systems.
